This is a 2012 pencil concept for “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze”. This was for the island called “Juicy Jungle”, and I was putting forth the idea that the place was loaded with entirely wooden machinery and hardware in their production of juicy stuff.

This drawing is one of my personal favorites of all the concepts that I created for Donkey Kong. This was the initial drawing that I drew to put forth the idea of wooden machinery everywhere, and I was somewhat inspired by how Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears had it that the Gummi Bears would often make machinery entirely out of wood. I love that sound of wooden machinery that Gummi Bears would use as the machinery was in operation.
